Summer 2nd half term
Where does our food come from?

Journey to Jo'burgUsing our outdoor learning spaces for inspiration, our learning this half term will focus on how we can care for the animals and the world all around us, our common home. We will be reflecting on our lifestyles and the impact we have, thinking about how our choices can help us to live sustainably, reduce food waste and find environmental solutions. In addition to this, in science, we will be continuing to learn how to respect living things and learn about a variety of habitats and food chains.

Do you know where your food comes from? How many miles has the food we eat travelled? In geography, we will be considering where our food comes from and how many miles our breakfast, for example, has travelled before reaching our plate.

During Islam week, the children will explore and understand why the Holy Book, the Qu’ran, is so important to the Muslim faith. The children will also be learning about our global community and understand that ordinary people can be extraordinary, and that we are all called to be saints.
