Year 6 Topic Rationale
Summer 2nd half term
The Dark Ages across the World
It is the final term for Year 6 so we will be spending time reflecting.
This time of year, we begin to look forward to the excitement and opportunities involved with the move to secondary school. A large focus is on our relationships and wellbeing. We spend time thinking about ourselves: who we have become and how we can use our skills and qualities to support us as we move on and embrace change. We think about friendships. As part of this, we will be reminiscing, celebrating our success and sharing our memories. These personal reflections will be captured through some emotive writing, which will be shared in both our Leavers’ Book and Leavers’ Assembly.
Our last few weeks together offer the opportunity to work collaboratively through writing, computing and art. We will, no doubt, delight in how much we have changed and grown over our years at St Dunstan’s; wonderful friendships formed, growth in our learning and challenges overcome.
We will revise and develop our understanding of the maths topics, statistics and measure through our science topic of exercise and lifestyle. |
